EXPERIENCE:

 

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - KINETIC ENERGY

2001-2008

·         Served 500 families a week.

·         Created the mission, vision and strategic planning. 

·         Performed need analysis, initiate, plan and test curriculum development.

·         Developed and implemented operating systems, business plans, marketing plans and financial analysis.

·         Maintained short term, long term and project budgets.

·         Recruited, hired, trained and supervised managers, instructors, administrative staff, and interns.

·         Served as public relations between the school and the local business, public school system, area financial development, government,     universities, and local community in general.

·         Managed the Artist Supply Shop, ordered inventory, established relationships with 13 vendors, attended trade shows.

·         Spoke and presented informances to regional special interest groups as well as to national organizations.

·         Served on various boards and committees within the industry.

 

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - RKB DANCE COMPANY

2005-2008

·         Choreograph original works, and restage significant works in RKB contemporary choreographic repertory.

·         Recruit, audition and train dancers.

 

FESTIVAL COORDINATOR – AMERICAN COLLEGE DANCE FESTIVAL

2001-2003

·         Organized 2 consecutive annual festivals attended by 750 participants from 28 various university/college institutions

·         Provided over 200 classes and presented 15 unique evening length concerts.

·         Arranged Bill Evans, Wendy Perron, Jim Lepore, Janice Lapointe-Crump, DayStar Jones, and Brendan McCall to adjudicate.

·         Coordinated a 55 person volunteer staff in 9 facilities within the community.

·         Facilitated communications with University Dance Departments throughout the nation.

 

INSTRUCTOR - UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA

2000-2003

·         Taught over 2,000 students per year in courses such as dance performance, applied choreography, creative movement for youth, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, ballroom, aerobics weight control and wellness general education sections.

·         Served as Artistic and Executive Director of the UNI Orchesis Dance Company produced and directed 28 concerts including the UNI Orchesis 75th Year Anniversary Dance Gala and Reunion.

·         Lectured and presented informances throughout the country for workshops and art education programs.

·         Evaluated and supervised student progress and individual studies.

·         Published writings and research as well as composed creative works.

·         Founded the Movement Outlet Dance Company.

·         Presented lectures and master classes at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

·         Served on faculty boards and committees.

·         Served as moderator for curtain talks with Artistic/Executive/Rehearsal Directors of visiting companies for the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center including: AXIS Dance Company, Washington Ballet, Ballet International, Momix, Tina Ramerz, Ballet Hispanico; Betty DeJong, Paul Taylor; and David Abilio, National Dance of Mozambique.

 

DIRECTOR- YOUNG PEOPLES DANCE THEATRE

1998-2000

·         Managed and taught Youth Dance Theatre Instructors to present creative movement programming in area elementary schools.

·         Expanded the company to six times its original size.

·         Refocused the company to a creative movement base, created mission/vision, marketing plan, lesson/unit plans and grants.

·         Participated in round table discussion with Bill T Jones.

 

PROJECT COORDINATOR- CAMP ADVENTURE WORLD SERVICES

1998-2000

·         Developed recreation programming for US military dependants stationed in Asia, Europe and throughout the United States.

·         Delivered recreational programming in Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Iowa and Hawaii.

·         Trained and managed a staff of 150 students from various universities throughout the US as well as civilian employees stationed on base. 

·         Arranged travel and living accommodations in Europe and the US.

·         Enforced policies and procedures.

·         Budgeted and allocated funds for programming and operations.

·         Reported to the US Navy and Air Force Youth Departments.
